From building bird boxes to making ponds, Watch members get involved in all aspects of the Alderney Wildlife Trust's work and play.
Watch is the junior part of the Wildlife Trusts, connecting children with nature and wildlife in their local area. Alderney Watch has plenty of on-island members, but also a large number of enthusiasts who live on the UK mainland and visit regularly.
We run events throughout the year around national days and local wildlife or seasonal events. We also have 7 days of wildlife events over the May half term Wildlife Week, you'll be able to find the programme online each spring. For the end of August bank holiday we also have our Wildlife Weekend and Fayre over the long weekend.
Watch membership is for children up to age 15 and is free for those resident in Alderney and £10 per year for children in the UK.
Watch members receive:
- 4 copies of the national Watch magazine
- Access to the busy Alderney Watch programme
- Access to many AWT events at a reduced rate
- The chance to take part in the Wildlife Watch Awards,
