Puffin Burrow Cam

From March to July Puffin Burrow Cam is great for watching puffin pairs closely throughout the season, or if you want to find out more about how to see them in person why not www.visitalderney.com.

Burrow Cam allows you to follow the same birds you see on the Puffin Main Cam but with a fixed view into their lives as the puffins go through their breeding cycle (the camera never moves unlike Puffin Main Cam). Look out for flying mud as the puffins re-dig and shape burrows, and later, puffins bringing back material like weed and grass to line their nest. Later in the season, from the end of May, the puffins will be bringing back fish for the pufflings inside. You might even be lucky enough to see a puffling leave the burrow for the first and final time at night in July! They head straight out to sea and won't return to land until they themselves are ready to breed from about 5 years of age.
